Pet Fair Asia 2024 held another record edition

with the highest international visitation in its history

The 26th edition of Pet Fair Asia brought the worldwide pet industry community together in Shanghai from 21st to 25th August 2024, for its largest edition up to date. Throughout its 300,00sqm of gross exhibiting space, more than 2500 companies, including most of the worldwide leading brands, showcased all types of pet industry products and the most groundbreaking innovations. Pet Fair Asia Supply also made its debut as a co-located show which gathered 600 exhibitors from the full spectrum of the pet industry supply chain.

Despite the current economic challenges around the world, the show’s visitation remained robust and far exceeded the expectations with a total of 124,000 professionals coming from 91 different countries, including Greater China. It registered, in particular, a remarkable increase of 41.8% over 2023 from the international visitors, which, for the first time, accounted for 10% of the total visitors, making this edition the most international up to date. The number of consumers who visited the event in the last 2 days reached also an all-time high of 386,000 people.

David Zhong, the Founder of Pet Fair Asia said: “The growth of Pet Fair Asia, on both scale and visitation, was nothing but a testimonial of the pet industry’s confidence towards the Asian markets, despite the current uncertain economic environment. In particular, the overwhelming international participation indicates that China continues to be an attractive market and a crucial player for the industry at international level.”

China pet market remains resilient and dynamic, showing an impressive capability to adopt fast to changes and bring to the industry some of the most fascinating innovations and trends. According to the research shared by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) during the show, China’s pet food market grew by a CAGR of 25-30% during 2019-2023, outpacing all the other retail markets.
