Abstract
As the show expands its focus on supply chain innovations and the rapidly growing small pet sector, it is preparing a global showcase of ground breaking technologies, trends and growth opportunities in the Asian pet markets.
Pet Fair Asia 2025 is set to welcome an unprecedented number of exhibitors and visitors from China and around the globe as it returns to Shanghai from August 20–24, 2025 for its 27th edition. The largest exhibition for the pet industry in Asia-Pacific continues its strong growth trajectory, promising another record-breaking year in scale, innovation, and international participation. More than 2,500 exhibitors are expected to showcase the latest advancements in pet care, products, and services across 310,000+ square meters of gross exhibition space, surpassing the scale of last year' s milestone event.
Supply Chain and Small Pet sectors fuel expansion
Among the show' s most dynamic areas of growth is Pet Fair Asia Supply, the co-located show launched two years ago. In response to surging demand, an additional outdoor hall will be added this year, bringing the total to eight halls and hosting over 700 exhibitors across 55,000 square meters, a 30% increase from 2024. This expansion reflects the growing importance of supply chain solutions, including smart factories and intelligent warehousing technologies, new sectors introduced this year to Pet Fair Asia Supply.
Also commanding attention is the rise of the small animals, reptiles, and aquatics segment, the third-largest category in China' s pet industry, trailing cats and dogs. This segment now accounts for 20% of the domestic pet market. Pet Fair Asia 2025 will dedicate, for the first time, a full hall encompassing 15,000 square meters of space to this booming sector, featuring products and solutions for birds, rabbits, hamsters, fish, reptiles, and more, with a focus on nutrition, health care, and wellbeing.

International visitation at the heart of Pet Fair Asia
Over the past two editions, Pet Fair Asia has experienced a significant rise in international attendance, particularly from emerging markets. In 2024, the show welcomed over 124,000 professionals from 91 countries, including Greater China. Most notably, there was a 41.8% increase in international visitors compared to 2023, with overseas attendees accounting for 10% of the total attendance, a milestone that made the 2024 edition the most international to date.
With the visitor registration portal having opened over two months ago, early indicators point to a continued upward trend for the upcoming edition. Registrations from East Asia and Southeast Asia remain strong, and there is a growing interest from Europe, Oceania, and particularly South America, where five major countries including Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Urugay are, since June 1st 2025, enjoying visa free entry to China for up to 30 days.
A standout feature of this year' s event is the return of the Pet Fair Asia Buyer Club — a program designed to foster high-value networking and facilitate strategic business connections. Since its launch 1 month ago, applications have been pouring in from all corners of the globe. Members of the program will enjoy premium benefits, including complimentary hotel accommodations, personalized business matchmaking, and access to exclusive networking and entertainment events.
Applications to join Pet Fair Asia Buyer Club will remain open until June 30th. Visitors interested in exploring this opportunity can obtain more information here.
